Best Buy to Give Employees iPads??

That's right folks! Word from Forbes is that one of the major U.S. retailers, which is presumed to be Best Buy, is planning to supply it's "Connected World" sales staff with iPads! The hopes of management, is that this move will help sell both the employees and the customers, on their "Connected World" concept.

The concept is really simple actually, and it is one that Apple had already adopted in their stores. Best Buy has been remodeling it's stores to be focused around tables, where customers can interact with the products they have for sale. The sales associates are also given some of the hot gadgets to have with them, such as iPod touches, Galaxy tablets and now presumably, iPads. With these gadgets, they can help educate the customers about them, demonstrate how to use them and then complete purchases on them. The "Connected Store" pilot is currently limited to a group of 27 stores, so Best Buy will not be buying iPads for EVERY employee just yet. However, Best Buy has stated the pilot would hopefully be increased to more stores in the future.

For Apple, this can be nothing but good. Even more public and hig profile usage of their products. Everywhere you look today, you see iPhones and iPads. In nearly every TV show and movie, the iPhones dominate. iPads pop up in all manner of shows and commercials as well. To have a large retailer like Best Buy, equip it's sales staff with iPads, will do nothing but boost their already booming sales!
